Souray is officially an ex-Hab
Sometime today Sheldon Souray agreed to a 5-year, $27 million deal with the Oilers.
Glad to see he's not coming back to Montreal, but also glad to see he hit paydirt. For all his awesomeness on the powerplay, you can't have a team that aspires to be a championship calibre team where your top defenseman is a -28. At that point you can't put him on the ice at even strength. He has no defensive game and he can't skate to boot. I think that all this talk of him being a leader is also over-stating his role. -28!
I think Hamrlik will do an admirable job filling in for Souray and I hope Edmonton enjoys his uneven play. But again, kudos to him for striking it rich!
